My story

Lemonade arrived at ACCT Philly on May 6, 2025, after being safely secured by police near Belfield Avenue when she was found loose on a highway. Though a little hesitant to get into the vehicle at first, Lemonade quickly showed what a gentle and affectionate girl she is once she arrived at the shelter. Lemonade is a charming and sweet low-rider who has warmed the hearts of everyone she meets. On walks, she is easy to leash, walks nicely with only mild pulling, and is quick to solicit attention with happy tail wags and gentle smiles. Volunteers have noticed that she enjoys leaning in for pets and sneaking in kisses, making her a wonderful companion for calm and loving interactions. She even went to the bathroom as soon as she got outside, suggesting she may be housetrained. Overall, Lemonade is a tolerant, friendly, and affectionate dog who thrives on companionship. She’ll be a lovely addition to a home that can offer her both snuggles and steady care, especially as she may need dental attention in the future for some fractured teeth. Behavioral Notes 05/08/2025 Per volunteer 5/7: Lemonade is such a sweetheart! She's a wiggly, lil low rider. She's super smiley and enjoyed sitting next to me, leaning in for lots of pets and some kisses. She went to the bathroom as soon as we got outside, so maybe she's housetrained! 05/07/2025 PGN: Loose at the gate, slightly steerable, tolerant, good greetings, tailwags 05/07/2025 Took out for a short walk to eval walker status since she’s in a crate in eval room. Easy to remove from the kennel, walked on a loose leash with only mild pulling outside, was soliciting attention from me and was easy to place back in the kennel for a treat.
