My story

Meet Kevin – A Tiny Survivor with a Giant Heart Kevin is a 4-year-old chihuahua with a brave heart and a gentle soul. He came from a heartbreaking hoarding situation where he lived with over 30 other chihuahuas, and when he was rescued, he weighed just 3.6 pounds. Today, thanks to love and care (and a successful knee surgery!), Kevin is over 6 pounds and learning how joyful life can be—especially when he’s zooming around the yard. Kevin’s journey has made him cautious. He needs a patient and understanding adopter who will give him the time and space to decompress and feel safe. He’s more comfortable with women and tends to be nervous around new people and unfamiliar situations. But once he opens up, Kevin is incredibly sweet, loyal, and affectionate. He’ll choose his favorite person and shower them with kisses and cuddles. He gets along with other dogs after he feels safe and is fine with cats. Because he thrives in a calm environment, Kevin would do best in a home without small children. He’s currently working on potty training and leash skills, and while he doesn’t do well in a crate, he’s making progress every day. Kevin is looking for a special someone who sees beyond his timid start and into the loving, lively little companion he’s becoming.
