My story

Introducing Dreyfus! Affectionate Playful Energetic Snuggly Hi, I’m Dreyfus! I’m a gentle, affectionate Velcro Dane who loves nothing more than being right next to my people—preferably snuggled up in bed or tagging along for a walk. I’ve got a youthful spirit, lots of energy, and a big heart. I’m always up for a cuddle, a chew toy, or some outdoor fun. I enjoy meeting new people and don’t play favorites—if you’re willing to give me pets, I’m all in! Sometimes I get so excited I might jump up to give you a hug, so a little awareness around my size goes a long way. I’ve met kids on walks (as young as 8–10), and I’ve been kind and gentle with them. I’d likely do best with children around that age or older just because I’m a big boy with a lot of love to give! I get along great with other dogs and love to play—no dominant behavior here! I haven’t met any cats, so if you have one, slow and careful introductions will be important. Likes:• Walks (I get three a day and love every minute!)• Car rides• Snuggling—especially in bed• Stuffy toys and chew bones• Getting pets and attention• Mealtime (yum!) Dislikes:• Being left alone I’m housebroken and not destructive when left out, so I don’t need a crate. I’m still learning my basic commands, but I respond well to verbal corrections and really want to please. I’ve started leash training with a gentle leader and am making progress on not pulling. My recall still needs some work—I have been known to take off if I’m not leashed—so off-leash time should only be in secure areas. I’m in great health and full of life! I’m currently taking medication to help with separation anxiety, but that may just be temporary while I adjust. Forever Home Wishlist:• A family that’s home most of the day—less than 4 hours away during the day would be ideal• I’d love a dog friend to keep me company• A family who enjoys daily walks• A home where I’m welcome on the couch and bed• A fenced yard would be awesome, but not required• Kids 8+ would be a great fit• Apartments might not be the best match—I’ve been known to howl when I’m lonely Fun Fact: I love zoomies! Watching me sprint around with pure joy is a highlight of the day—it's my favorite way to show off just how much fun I can be.
