My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Chester, our adorable Chihuahua boy! Chester is approximately 7 to 8 years old and weighs 10 pounds. He came to us from a high-kill shelter in Texas, where he had been abandoned. After seeing his picture, we knew we had to help him find a safe haven in Buffalo, and here he is! Chester is such a nice little dog! It’s clear he was once someone's pet, and it makes us wonder how he ended up alone in a shelter. Chester has a gentle personality and absolutely loves to cuddle with his foster mom. He quickly warmed up to his foster family, eagerly soaking up all the affection they shower on him. He also enjoys snuggling with another small dog, especially when it’s chilly! This sweet boy likes to stay close to his foster mom without being too clingy, and he has a special knack for basking in the sun whenever the weather allows, though he’s still getting used to the Buffalo weather. His foster home has a fully fenced yard, but Chester is  leash-trained so it is not required in his new home. He enjoys his walks almost as much as he loves to nap!  He appears to be house trained but please expect some adjustment time as he learns a new home and routine.  He is also crate trained.   Chester behaves well in the car so he would be a good co-pilot for errands or just going to get coffee.  He’s been around cats and didn’t show much interest. He would do best with older kids who understand he’s more about peace and quiet than playing fetch. He does like to bark at interesting noises outside, so he’ll also be a trusty little watchdog. Chester is excited to find his forever home filled with love and cuddles. He can't wait to snuggle up with someone special! Chester is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm. He has had bloodwork done and appears to have had a dental recently.  Chester also received a Pro Heart 12 injection which covers his heartworm prevention for 1 year.  His adoption fee is $450Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 7, 2025, 10:13 am
