Meet Seth! At a tiny 6 lbs and 5 years old, Seth is the definition of a little dog with a big story. Saved at the very last minute from euthanasia in a crowded Texas shelter, Seth is now on his way to a brighter future, in colorful Colorado, far away from the Texas streets. Seth is believed to be a Italian Greyhound / Chihuahua mix. He is a very happy and friendly little guy, and does great with people and other dogs. Here is what Seth's foster has to say about him: * * * * "Seth gets along great with both of our dogs, and is the sweetest little thing! He loves to cuddle and be held, and he sleeps under the blankets with us. We leave his crate open during the day, and he likes to go into his crate on his own to nap. Though he would prefer not to be closed in the crate at night and sleep in bed with you! He does whine when we close him in the crate and leave. He loves walks and rolling in the grass. He often wants to be picked up towards the end of the walk and carried home... Luckily he weighs almost nothing and is so easy to carry home when he is done! He sits for his meals, and is a good eater! He also eats with my dogs and does fine. He also rides well in the car - usually sitting on either my lap or my boyfriend's lap." * * * * Seth is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, and healthy. Despite everything he's been through, he’s gentle, resilient, and has so much love to give. His ideal home is one that will cherish him for the rest of his long dog days, providing safety, comfort, and a cozy lap to curl up in. We don’t know if Seth has had any formal training, but a (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class will help him build confidence, bond with his new family, and master good manners. Training is essential for a successful adoption, and Farfel’s is happy to provide a list of recommended force-free trainers to set him up for success. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. If you are interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ . **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Seth, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
