My story

Meet Peso, this handsome boy is looking for another home after his caregiver became homeless. He is looking for a quiet home, where he can just relax - he's not used to a lot of people outside of his home, and they make him nervous. It will take him a while to really adjust to a new place. He would love to have a cat friend to show him the ropes, but has no experience with dogs. He would prefer a home with older kids (10 and up). Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully. If you're ready to adopt now come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00pm. This is for in-shelter pets (not in foster care). We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours. All kitten adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccination (if over 12 weeks of age) -current on distemper vaccines (will need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
