My story

Meet Skadi, a sweet and tender-hearted 2-year-old girl looking for her fresh start. Found as a stray, we don’t know much about her past, but it’s clear this brave pup hasn’t had the easiest journey. Now, she’s ready for a future filled with love, comfort, and connection. Skadi walks beautifully on leash—staying close by your side and often checking back to make sure you’re still with her. She’s curious about the world, loves to sniff around (especially when there are bugs to investigate!), and is a huge fan of hot dogs. She may get a little jumpy when excited, but she responds quickly and politely to redirection. What Skadi loves most? Crawling into your lap for cuddles and soaking up all the affection she can get. She’s soft, sweet, and simply wants to be close to her people. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who’s eager to leave her past behind and start a beautiful new chapter, Skadi might just be the happy ending you’ve both been waiting for.Skadi would love to meet any potential canine siblings! Our staff will carefully handle all dog-to-dog introductions at the shelter to ensure a great match. Feel free to bring your pup along when you come to meet her!Skadi was able to go on a Dog Day Out recently and here is what they had to say, `Skadi did well riding in a car and walking on a leash. We went to the park where she enjoyed exploring and watching the birds. Skadi also enjoyed all the smells in our backyard. She appears to be potty trained and had no accidents. She was eager to get up into the chair with me for snuggle-time. She was a good girl on the patio laying under the table while we had snacks and beverages. She is very quiet and loves belly scratches. If you are looking for a cuddle monster this girl is for you.`Skadi is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her vaccinations, and ready for her forever home! Skadi is living in a foster home. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.
