My story

We have a transport where we will be personally taking our dogs home leaving on 5/17/25 to NorCal and OR. Surrounding states will be added to our route if needed ☺️ We would love to add Charlie to our trip for the right home 💕 Meet our sweet boy Charlie! He is a yorkie/maltese mix. He looks more yorkie than anything 💙 He weighs right under 15 lbs. Yes, he is at a healthy weight for his age. He doesn't look his weight at all, as be holds it very well 😊 He turns 1 year of age on 8/5/25. He is neutered, microchipped, current on all of his yearly vaccines, had a dental cleaning done, and had an overall wonderful exam with our vet who has cleared him to find a home all his own ❤️ He is house trained, and does very well having a schedule to go outside. We let him out every 3 hours and have never worried about accidents inbetween as he is very patient and accustomed to the schedule we have set up. He is crate trained, and does very well in a crate. He currently sleeps in one at night very peacefully or to nap in during the day. He has great house manners, and is allowed in the home during the day to hang out with us. He loves to be around his humans, and if he isn't napping nearby on a comfy bed you will see him playing quietly with a favorite toy. He is a great little guy just happy to be a part of your day however he can be ❤️ He is leash trained, and LOVES his walks. He is very good about staying by your side unless something gets his sniffer going 😂 He is very curious and must impact at that point so it's your job to keep up and make sure he locates it 😉 He is wonderful with other dogs and cats alike. He is very playful, and will instantly become any animals friend if given the opportunity. He is very social and loves attention so if you are looking for a friendly little guy who will instantly light up any room he walks into then Charlie is definitely your guy! He is NOT a barker, but will on occasion alert you of an unfamiliar noise. He is rather quiet by nature and is peaceful at heart. Don't let his age deter you from opening your home to him as yould be missing out on an amazing friend if you did ❤️ He isn't high energy at all! He loves to relax, and will go about your day as you go about yours. He of course loves when the day slows down and your attention is on him, but he is patient until that moment arrives. He is wonderful in the car and has traveled all the way through Northern California and Oregon with us visiting hotels, beaches, dog parks, and everything fun inbetween. He loved every single moment of the adventures we had and made an excellent passenger the entire time 😊 He is wonderful at the groomers and LOVES a good spa day especially when he gets to hear how handsome he is upon his arrival home 😊 His adoption fee is on our website at the bottom of his adoption listing at https://www.breadoflifek9refuge.org/post/charlie-1 It covers his neuter, vaccines, microchip/registration, his dental cleaning (his teeth were in great overall health but he did need a good cleaning and polish as he had mild tarter buildup,) his antibiotic injection given to aid in his healing, and his exam with our vet (which went perfect!) It also covers the months of care involved in the time he has been here with us, his grooming costs, and his training we have personally done with him.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Charlie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
