If you’re looking for a pair of calm, sweet cats who want nothing but to eat, sleep, play, and be loved on, meet Wendell and his bonded buddy Roger! This bonded pair truly love each other and spend their days snuggling in their favorite chair. When they were introduced last November, they became friends instantly because they are both such gentle, sweet boys. They both recently had dental work in which some badly decayed teeth were pulled, so they enjoy eating even more now. These are the cuddliest cats you`ll ever meet. However, a quiet home with no small children or other pets would be best for these retired gentlemen.Wendell, aka “Dubs” or “Dubby”, is about 5-8 years old. He lived a tough life on the street for a few years before his foster brought him in because he showed up with some bad wounds from scratching at flea dermatitis. Who knew that such a rugged man of the streets would be such a sweet and cuddly love bug?! Though he has some scars, and his ears are curled from too much time in the sun, Wendell is a handsome boy with very expressive eyes and very soft fur which he loves for you to brush! He has a unique purr that is more like a cooing sound, and he will nap on your lap for as long as you let him. His favorite toy is the thing on the string, and he will run into his cat tube and wait for it to whizz past so that he can attack it!Wendell has tested both positive and negative for FIV, so it`s not clear whether he has it or not, but his health is good. He is currently taking a low dose of gabapentin twice a day to (crushed and mixed in food) to relieve arthritis pain in his back which was causing him to overgroom a couple of spots. While Wendell does love to eat, it’s important to monitor his food intake. After so many years as an outside cat, if he is allowed to free-feed he will eat more than he should which is not good for his weight or his digestive system.FIV+ cats need love too! FIV is species specific, meaning only cats can be infected. FIV+ cats can live just as long as non-FIV cats. If introduced properly, FIV and Non-FIV cats can live happy and healthy lives together. The virus is very frail and can only live outside the body for a few seconds, and requires serious physical interaction, like deep bite wounds. Normal social interactions, such as grooming, sharing food and water bowls and litter boxes have no known risk of transmission. Wendell~born~6/1/19_____A special adoption fee is offered for
