My story

I AM CURRENTLY IN A FOSTER HOME. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING, PLEASE COPY AND PASTE THIS URL https://www.sdhumane.org/interest INTO YOUR BROWSER TO FILL OUT THE INTEREST FORM. Animal ID: 946146. How this pet arrived: Archie was brought in by a community member on March 26, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Archie is here to steal your heart (and maybe your spot on the couch). Archie has what we call "stranger danger" and can be a bit fearful around new faces and places. Over time, he warms up well and enjoys getting attention from his favorite people. Once he knows you, this friendly guy will greet you with a full-body wiggle that can only be described as "joy in motion." Remember, since he can be a bit nervous, it's important to keep his world small - no festivals or farmers markets for this guy! When it comes to other dogs, Archie is a bit of a connoisseur - he doesn't click with just anyone. He'd thrive with a chill, larger well-matched canine roomie (no little dogs, please) or as your one-and-only fur child (he's totally fine being the center of your universe). He's also looking for a home, without the hustle and bustle of young kiddos. Archie did come in with an ACL tear and a bit underweight, but he's on the road to recovery and is feeling much better! Think he might be the one for you? Archie's waiting to wiggle his way right into your life - fill out the interest form above!Shy/Fearful Dog: Archie requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: Black Weight: 44.6 Age: 1yrs 7mths 3wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Archie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
