Meet Snowflake !! This big girl is so sweet and extremely smart. She has been learning so much and doing so well. A really wonderful addition to any family. We saved Snowflake and her sister (and their mom) only a few hours before the first snowstorm hit us last year. They were living outside in a pen with minimal protection from the elements and no real human interaction. They have all embraced indoor life and snowflake is the last one ready to find her forever home. Snowflake is a female and is 8 months old. She weighs approx. 50 pounds. She appears to be hound and Great Pyrenees based off her size and mom’s looks. She will likely be a larger dog but is not growing super fast. Her mom is 70 pounds and dad is unknown. She will be spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines as part of her adoption. She is on heartworm and flea preventions. Over the last few days we have been doing a lot of new training with Snowflake. She is excelling at learning and is eager to please. She is really wonderful and well behaved once you give her some guidance on how you want her to behave. She has learned to sit, shake, and lay down. She thinks it’s okay to show her love by jumping up on you but is learning the “off” command and starting to understand she is not welcome to do that. Snowflake is a very sweet girl and extremely affectionate. She has all the energy to play and run around with you or other dogs but also loves to cuddle up with you on the couch. She has done fantastic with other dogs and kids. She loves to play with other dogs. She was fostered with kids and did really well. She has not been fostered with cats so we are not sure how she would do. Snowflake has a medium energy level. Definitely needs playtime but she also needs you to give her mental stimulation. This means playing chase, going for walks, puzzle games, short in home training sessions, and things like sniffle mats. Things that engage her mind as well. The more you engage with her the better behaved she is. She adores any attention and guidance you give her. She just soaks it all up. She really is easy to manage with just a little effort put into her each day. She is doing really well with her potty training. She just switched foster homes and did not have any accidents even with a schedule transition. She is really good on car rides. She is also crate trained and does very well with that. She has not had any trouble sharing food, treats or toys with other dogs or humans. Snowflake is not as good on the leash as we would like her to be but she has made a ton of progress in the last few days alone. She is a bit chaotic on the walks at first but once you get going into it and remind her to behave, she does really well. Once she perfects the leash walking, she would likely be a great running partner. She has never tried to escape the yard but the Pyrenees breed is known for that. It’s best to not leave her alone outside for long periods of time so she doesn’t get bored and try to go on an adventure. She hasn’t tried it but we just want to be cautious. Overall, this girl is a real gem. A very sweet dog that is eager to learn and be a part of your family. She is a great mix of energy and fun but is also ready to cuddle hard whenever you sit down to relax. We are so excited to see her blossom in her new home. Vet and home checks required.
