My story

Meet Gus – A Golden Boy with a Heart of Gold Gus is a 9-month-old golden retriever mix who’s as sweet as he is stunning. With his long legs, soft blond coat, and curious spirit, we suspect there may be a touch of Great Pyrenees in his genes—especially with those unique hind dew claws. This handsome pup is still growing into himself and the world around him. He absolutely loves affection and will happily soak up every bit of love you’re willing to give. Gus is naturally curious and enjoys exploring new sights and smells, making every walk a little adventure. While he can be a bit hesitant when meeting new people, he warms up quickly with a little patience and kindness. For such a young guy, Gus is already an excellent leash-walker—a rare and wonderful trait in a puppy! He hasn't quite mastered “sit” yet, but he's working on it and eager to learn. Gus shows a lot of interest in other dogs and gives off friendly, social vibes, so we suspect he’ll do great in a home with canine companions. If you’re looking for a young, affectionate pup with lots of potential and even more love to give, Gus could be the one for you. The adoption fee is $400 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter.  We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days.  Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day!  If you have other dogs in your home, they must all meet the potential adoptee.  It may save you a trip to bring them with you when you visit, if you are certain you want to adopt a new family member.  ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them.  Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission.  ##2376572##
