Pippin:I am a pretty girl, and I have the potential to be a friendly cat. I will need patient cat-savvy adopters who can read my body language and give me time to blossom into my true personality.I am easily stressed/overwhelmed during transitions, and I am looking for an adopter who is willing to give me as much time as I need to settle in - could be a couple of days, could be a couple of weeks. My success will be dependent on how well my adopters are able to read and understand my body language. It is recommended that I be set up in my own space (an extra bedroom or bathroom) - a space that people or animals do not have access to unless you are going in to clean or feed. I should be left alone initially as I adjust. My space should include plenty of hiding places, ideally with access to a vertical surfaces like a cat tree or a cat-proofed shelf, and easy access to a litter box, food, and water.I should never be approached or pet or picked up when I am hiding or showing fearful body language like curling up into a tight, tense ball, flattening my ears backward or to the sides, hissing, growling, swatting, etc. Ideally, with enough time to myself, I will begin to relax and move around more freely while my adopters are visiting my room. I can gradually be given more access to my new home only when I am confidently moving about my environment and I remain confident with relaxed body language when my adopters spend time with me.My adopters should be comfortable with a cat who may not ever want to expand their social circle. If you do have people over, be sure to give me the option to stay in a different space, like in another room behind a door, under the bed, somewhere up high, etc.. I should never be forced to interact with new people if my body language or behavior indicates that I am afraid.I had a broken left femur which healed before arriving at the shelter. Radiographs were taken and it was determined that the fracture is fully healed, although in a significant abnormal position. This causes the left hind limb to be significantly shorter than the right leg. I was evaluated and found to not be in pain, I showed good mobility, and am able to jump and walk almost normally. However due to this old fracture, I can have some decreased mobility for the rest of my life. I should be kept strictly indoors and can potentially develop arthritis/discomfort in my joint later in life. If I were develop lameness or pai
