My story

French bulldog lovers, pay attention to this posting!! Athena is a gorgeous Frenchie mix. She is 7 years old and 33 pounds. To love Athena, you must love adorable snores and the excited, goofy, unique sounds she makes. Athena adores people with all her heart, but has to be the only pet. She has a scar on one of her eyes, believed to have been caused by a cat. The vet said the eye is healed, and though she may have some vision loss, she has adjusted well and it won't cause any future issues. She is a great mix of walking partner and couch cuddlier, though most of the time she would prefer the cuddles! She has good leash manners, loves car rides, and once used to her home, can be off-leash. Though Athena was a local surrender, she is heartworm positive. Her adoption fee includes the treatment, but the adopter is responsible for getting her to the appointments at our vet in Rutland. You can read more about this in the heartworm positive post. Athena has become a staff and volunteer favorite, and once you meet her, you'll know why! Being heartworm positive, Athena can only be adopted by a Vermont resident.
