My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, June 28th from 12-3pm unless adopted prior to the event. To be considered for adoption, pls submit an application in advance.   Adoption Fee: $650 Meet Mick Jagger — The Tiny Rockstar with Big Puppy Energy!   Start practicing your autographs, because Mick Jagger is ready to steal hearts (and maybe your socks) everywhere he goes! This 4 1/2 month old Pug mix may not have a British accent or a world tour (yet), but he definitely has the moves. Especially when he spots his leash— suddenly, it’s a full-blown dance party with happy hops and tail wags as he preps for his morning walk. Mick came to DPS from a shelter, where he was with his litter mates. They have all been adopted, but we saved the best for last! Mick wakes up around 7 AM and politely waits for his entourage (aka you) to say good morning before heading out to potty and then strut his stuff around the neighborhood. He’s a fabulous walker, loves spotting squirrels (future tour mascots?), and will greet other dogs like a true gentleman with a rock ‘n roll heart.   After breakfast, he chills in his x-pen with toys and good vibes— think of it as his backstage lounge. He’s got that perfect blend of puppy energy and mellow hangout mode. Morning zoomies, afternoon sunbathing, evening cuddles? Check, check, check.   Mick is a total love bug. He adores attention, belly rubs, and being part of the action. He’ll follow you around like your #1 fan and melts into your lap like the gooey center of a cinnamon roll. He’s great with other dogs of any size (his foster sibling is an 80 lb hound mix!), very eager to please, and super smart— he’s mastering house training like a pro and is very treat-motivated. Bonus: he’s not a yappy guy, just a mellow dude who’s always down for an adventure or a nap.   While he hasn’t officially met any kids yet, his friendly, curious, and gentle personality makes him a likely candidate for kid-approved status. Like all puppies, he’s still working on teething and some occasional play nibbles, but he redirects well with toys and a little rockstar coaching.   Whether you’re a first-time dog parent or a veteran groupie, Mick would make a great addition to any home ready to give him love, structure, and the occasional squirrel-chasing gig.   Adopt Mick Jagger— because every family deserves a little star power.                    July 3, 2025, 7:59 pm
