My story

Valentine 2 years old, spayed female, 15 lbs. Terrier mix   PERSONALITY TRAITS: Valentine came into foster with five pups and was an excellent mom and raised them all up until they were nearly her size! She is a very loyal dog and is affectionate with the adult in her foster home. She is a little anxious by nature and needs a patient home to give her time to settle in, and likely slow introductions to visitors. She can exhibit territorial behavior and needs an experienced person who can work on training her not to feel she is in charge.   LIKES: Cuddling. Watching out the window (will sometimes bark). She loves to play outside in the yard and needs a home with a fenced yard where she can run zoomies. She enjoys walks and car rides, anywhere her people are! She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home and most visiting dogs her size. She can be afraid of larger dogs.    DISLIKES: Cats - she will chase! Canes, walkers, and wheelchairs. She can also be selective with people and is not recommended for a home with small children.    POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Fully trained in her foster home both with and without a dog door.    CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Sleeps in a crate at her foster home. Has been crated while humans are away with little protest, but typically is allowed run of the house with access to a dog door.    EXTRAS/MISC.: VALENTINE would do great solo or with another playful dog and a yard to play in. She has a lot of energy and needs regular exercise. As a young dog, she would benefit from additional training and careful socialization and needs to go to a home that understands the 3-3-3 rule with dogs and has the patience to let her become comfortable in her new home. Children under 10 and cats are not recommended, and neither is anyone with ambulatory devices as she is fearful of canes, walkers, and wheelchairs. She is an adorable soft dog and will be a lovely companion once she has settled into her forever home.    To further inquire about VALENTINE, submit an online application via our website. https://wigglytails.org   Tell us about yourself, family, other pets, and how VALENTINE will mesh with your lifestyle. Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with next steps and an opportunity to set up a Meet & Greet.   Our process is NOT a “first come, first served” process. (We DO NOT hold pets for later consideration.) Our team carefully reviews and interviews applicants for the best possible fit for each adoptable pet, and potential family.   We look forward to facilitating a positive and solid adoption for VALENTINE, as well as his future family. *Fostered in Eugene/Springfield, Oregon   ADOPTION APP: https://wigglytails.org/adoption-application/ Qualifying applicants will be contacted by our Adoption Coordinator with information about the next steps and setting up a Meet and Greet.
