My story

Meet Smokey, a strikingly handsome black lab. He is neutered, approximately 1 yr old, and weighs around 60lbs.  He is an absolutely beautiful dog. He is young and playful. He loves toys and playing with dogs of all sizes. He also loves to be wherever his people are! He knows some basic commands like “sit” and “paw.” He is good with other dogs, cats, and people. 10/10 good boy.  He is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
