My story

Meet Emma, an adorable 5-month-old female mixed breed puppy with a heart full of love! Her unique mix is thought to be border collie, lab, and possibly Great Pyrenees, evident from her distinctive back dew claws. Currently weighing around 30-35 pounds, Emma is expected to grow into a stunning medium to large-sized dog.  As a young pup, she's a happy and friendly bundle of energy who loves everyone she meets, and with proper training, exercise, and socialization, she'll grow into a wonderful companion. From Emma's current foster:  "Emma girl is doing wonderfully! She has been blossoming in her foster home with our lab and 1.5 yr old boy. She has been exposed and no problems with loud sounds like vacuum, hair dryer, coffee maker, or lawn mower. Did well with the bath tub too. Emma is a sweet angel who curls up right next to me while I work. She will play independently with some toys and then take a snooze til we take a break. She clearly wants to learn and will work for treats as we’re doing basic training. Continuing to encourage comfort on leash. She is doing well crate training." She is medically up to date (age appropriate), and working on crate training and housebreaking. With her playful spirit and affectionate personality, she'd thrive in an active home with plenty of love, attention, and playtime. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
