My story

January found herself in a shelter, pregnant and scared. We took her in the morning of January 1st, right after she had given birth to 3 kittens. She's been through so much! An unknown 4th kitten that was stillborn and pyometra infection, leading to emergency spay! Her kittens are off to their forever homes and she is now ready for her forever home! She is the perfect cat if you want a chill, lap cat! She is sweet, cuddly and quiet, but does love to be the Queen, swhich is typical Calico nature! The vet estimates her around 7 years old.  If you would like to make January part of your family, fill out an application at www.barktownrescue.org.    ADOPTION FEE $75The shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at the dog's predominant breed or breed mix. We strongly encourage you to select your new pet by looking at each dog's individual personality and pet qualities rather than relying on a breed label that is only our best guess.    Our adoption fees vary from $150 and up.  All of our dogs are up to date on vaccines, heart worm preventives, and flea/tick medication, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
