Kiki Sher

My story

Kiki was rescued at age 3 months when abandoned at an Annandale apartment site by a departing resident. He was taken in by a kind senior citizen who became unable to keep him any longer than the 5 months she had him, and she surrendered him to 4Paws to find a forever home. Kiki craves attention from his human and is quite affectionate. He likes to be cuddled and petted and readily purrs when picked up. He is content to sit right next to his foster mom on a sofa and watch TV. In his short term Annandale home he lived with the resident cat who had already been there for many years, but he routinely intimidated and picked on her. As a result, they had to be kept separated, with Kiki unhappily relegated to a small bedroom so as not to harass and stress out the other cat. Similarly, in his 4Paws foster home he did not do well at attempts to integrate him with resident cats, displaying hostility and no desire whatsoever to become friends with them. Yet he is instantly lovey-dovey when his foster mom picks him up. It is evident to his foster mom that he is going to be happiest as the only kitty in the home as long as he gets full attention from his human -- he would make an ideal companion for someone who works from home! He has not been exposed to children or to dogs. If there are children in the adoptive home, he is better suited to older children, as he can sometimes get overstimulated when receiving a lot of physical attention and might give little "love nips" that small children would not understand. In his foster home Kiki dines on Fancy Feast canned and has 24/7 access to a high quality chicken based kibble. He uses a large, high-sided litter box with unscented litter. Kiki was born August 2024. He is neutered, current on vaccines, tested negative for FiV/FeLV, and has been micro chipped.
