My story

In the immortal words of Eric Clapton...♫ What would you do when you get lonely, and no one's waiting by your side? ♫Well, you won't have to answer that question with me by your side! I'm Layla, and I'm the sweetest, most chilled-out pup you'll ever meet! I'm about 4 years old, and until very recently, I lived with my sister (Lilly) in Alabama. Things were a little tough for us down there, so we decided to ♫make the best of the situation♫ and hitched a ride to Minnesota to become Warrior Dogs. You might say that WDR has ♫ turned my whole world up-side-down ♫...but in the best possible way!I'm currently staying with a foster family who loves me, and while I can be pretty quiet, timid and shy, I'm not shy with loving them right back. Their Warrior-alum dog does her best to get me to run and play, but I'm more of a laid-back kind of girl. I love belly rubs and ear massages...and if you'll share a little of your food with me (hard to resist when I bat my big, golden, puppy dog eyes at you), I'm YOURS.My chilled-out demeanor means I'm good with kids (the neighbor kids come running whenever I'm outside -- and I LOVE all the attention), as well as with other dogs. Most of all, I just love to be near my people. So FAIR WARNING...if you get the chance to meet me, you will simply fall in love with me (♫ like a fool? ♫ -- no, like you're supposed to!). 🐾 LaylaPS---I think Clapton's "unplugged" version of my song is the best version, don't you?Layla is Heartworm positive and is waiting for a negative test result which can take place 9 months after treatment. Her treatment has been completed and she will need a microfilaria test every 3 months to follow up on her treatment progress until she has a negative result. During these months, you will need to make sure her heart rate is not elevated due to high energy play or exercise. Layla will also need continued use of monthly Heartworm prevention going forward.--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $400To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Layla, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
