My story

Renata | 4 years old | 40 lb | Lab mix | Tripod| Sweetheart! Renata is a very gentle and absolutely the sweetest dog. She came to us from a situation where she lived in a small space with many other dogs, and she seems to be enjoying the new level of peace in her life. She is a champion napper, and enjoys a lot of relaxing and sleep during the day (making her a perfect dog for anyone who works from home)! We suspect Renata will be a low to medium energy dog once she's fully decompressed as she loves to go for walks and run in the field across from her foster's home. Being on three legs doesn't slow her down a bit, and she's always game for a walk, a sniff, or an opportunity to explore. When she's happy, she jumps around joyfully and playfully. Renata is housetrained, can be left home alone without being destructive, and does not resource guard. She's working on leash walking, and tends to flop down for a rest or just to take in her surroundings for a minute before continuing on! She's easy to encourage and guide. She seeks out affection and loves men and women equally. She would likely be great with older children. She would do well in a home with another calm dog to be her companion but is fine as the only dog in the home. She's great with cats too. One of Renata's favourite parts about her new life is the access to cuddles! This girl lives to snuggle. If she sees you coming, she will flop onto her back for belly rubs. She also loves to stand on her two back legs and push her head and body into you for full body cuddles and comfort. She likes to start every day with a 5-10 minute cuddle, but these morning cuddle sessions could last as long as her people wanted! When she's playing, she'll literally jump into your arms with happiness if you sit on the ground. If you are looking for an easy, relaxed, and incredibly loving dog, then please apply for Renata. She can't wait to begin life with her forever family! Please apply at the link: https://form.jotform.com/pawsacrossthewater/adoption-application

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Renata, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
