My foster writes: Soul is a sweet and affectionate but independent cat. Bedtime and mornings are her favorite: she'll wait for me to get into bed or to wake up and curls up on me asking for pets and cuddles. In between those times, I'll often find her taking an afternoon nap under the covers or curling up on my pillow. She's not very food motivated and likes to eat her food when she's ready. She also likes to call the shots when it comes to cuddles and petting and can get overstimulated suddenly - but when she's ready, you better be ready too because she loves to snuggle! I had a friend over and Soul came up to them on her own, gave her a sniff, and went back to her cat tree unbothered! My other foster writes: Soul is a gorgeous and sweet girl with a lot of love to give. She is a great companion cat who loves curling up by your side as you work or relax, nuzzling you, and showing off by rolling around with her favorite toys. Every day when I come home from work, she runs over and greets me with purrs. And what a sight that is! With her big belly, short stature, and captivating yellow eyes, she is cartoonishly adorable. And with a personality to match, Soul is a real gem! What my friends at ACC say about me:I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.Soul was in the cubby, looking slightly apprehensive, but allowed and seem to enjoy cheek, chin and head rubbing. She could not be coaxed out of the cubby except for her head which poked out to sniff treats. Petting along her back caused her to focus on my hand and made as if almost ready to nip so the assessor stopped petting her there. Then he poured some catnip in the main kennel and she came fully out to eat and sniff it and then rolled in is and became very relaxed and affectionate and allowed petting all over including along her back. Pickup wasn't attempted. Soul interacts with the observer, solicits & appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting except sometimes on her backside. No known history of behavioral problems. We recommend that she go to a home with some cat experience preferred and be well counseled in mild petting induced aggression along her back. Primary Color: Black Weight: 11.26 Age: 4yrs 3mths 2wks
