My story

A volunteer writes:When I first met Flash, her face was almost buried between her forlegs, trying to shield herself from whatever and whoever she did not know. To be part of a house full of cats restrains the universe and makes it hard for a kitty to meet the world. Flash was so scared although she never hissed or swatted at me. Time and special attention from her shelter caretakers are doing their job. Flash, it's a given, is still timid but she keeps her head up and comes forward for treats and tasty food that she consumes heartily. She accepts petting and I am pretty sure that at my next visit, she will lean into pets and purrs. Once improvements start, one can already see the end of the tunnel and that is what I am hoping for Flash. Of course, the best would be a home sweet home, so, do not make little Flash wait too long, come to the Manhattan Care Center and choose to offer her right now a beautiful life as a pet!My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!I have lived with cats in my previous home.I am a cat that is in need of a lap! I can't wait to be your new lap cat.I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments.
