Meet Baxter, an adorable cream point Himalayan Persian! He’s a friendly older gentleman, born on July 10, 2013. Baxter came to us after the passing of his owner. He comes from a breeder and we have papers and his bloodline. Because of his breed, it’s important that his adopter is familiar with Himalayan Persians or willing to learn. This breed can be prone to certain health issues so understanding their care is key to helping Baxter thrive. Also - when we got Baxter, he had some matting so he had to be shaved in some areas. He has a cute little haircut for now and the floof will grow back soon! Though he’s a laid back guy, Baxter has his playful moments too! He loves engaging with wand toys and even enjoys playing cat games on a phone! Don’t let his age fool you; playtime is still one of his favorite parts of the day, and he’ll run around joyfully to show it. He’s a social kitty who enjoys the company of his humans. While he may not be super cuddly, he loves being nearby and soaking up the presence of the people he trusts. He absolutely loves getting pets but does have boundaries. If he’s feeling a bit overstimulated, he might give you a little nibble as a reminder that he needs a little break. It's just his way of saying “I've had enough for now, but don't worry - I'll be ready for some more love again soon!" He'd do best in a home without young children. Baxter has been an only cat, though he’s been around other cats in the past. A slow and proper introduction to other pets would be necessary. He’d do well as a solo cat, which he’s used to, and he’d be more than happy to soak up all the love and attention for himself! He is a long-haired kitty, which means he’ll need regular grooming to keep his coat looking its best. Daily brushing is essential to prevent matting. Fortunately, he enjoys the pampering and often purrs his way through brushing sessions - he knows he looks good, and he loves the attention that comes with it! He also gets eye boogers since he has a flat face. It’s important to clean his eyes daily to avoid buildup. Baxter is used to eating both wet and dry food, with wet meals being especially important to help him stay hydrated. He’s also accustomed to pellet litter, so if you're considering switching to a different type, a gradual transition is best. Could you be the one to offer him the love and care he deserves? If you have the heart and understanding to care for this special boy, he’d be thrilled to make your home his forever place! Baxter is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300. April 27, 2025, 3:18 am
