My story

Rachel is doing so well in her foster home and getting glowing reports. She’s an outgoing, confident cat who likes to keep her people close. Her foster writes, “It took her a while to warm up to us, but now she is very cuddly and loves to sit with us when we’re on the couch. She will usually sleep on the other side of the couch from me and come to say hi periodically. She LOVES treats and her wet food. She hasn’t interacted with any children or any other animals with us, but she is so sweet that I imagine she would be completely fine in a house with children. She is totally fine being picked up and has never tried to scratch us. We’ve been working on getting her to scratch her scratching post instead of the carpet or the bed, but she might need a sturdier post, although she doesn’t scratch very often. We are also working on getting her to not wake us up at night. She sleeps in bed and sometimes she will sleep all night but other times she will try to get us to pet her in the middle of the night. Rachel will go on our lower tables, but she never goes on the kitchen counter which is great. She has no problems using the litter box. She will tap us very gently when she wants to be pet which I think is so adorable. She is also extremely vocal and makes alot of sounds that I’ve never heard from a cat before 😂. She sleeps most of the day and is pretty independent, but she generally likes to be hanging out in the same room as us.” Rachel would be a great cat for anyone looking for a loving, affectionate cat with a blockbuster personality but also a propensity for long afternoon naps. She’s not super playful and has zero interest in cat toys. But, Rachel LOVES pets and treats.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rachel, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
