My story

Annelle is really starting to come out of her shell, thanks in large part to her fosters. They took her in after this gentle, tiny (just under 5 pounds!) girl ended up on the streets at 15! We don’t know what happened to Annelle’s human, but we know it must have been something serious because Annelle was clearly beloved by her adopter. The good news is she’s doing so well in her temporary foster home. They call her “Nellie.” Her foster writes, “It hasn’t taken her long to come out of her shell at all! Literally 8 hours after we brought her home she was in our laps and sleeping with us at night. She’s a little picky about her food and treats, but she mostly prefers dry food and particularly loves these Delectables treats She CANNOT get enough pets and often will bulldoze her head into you until you start/continue to pet her. She is quite the snuggler, preferring to sit on your lap and sleep in the bed or on a blanket close. She drools when she’s happy, which is often, so your hand, arms and clothes are often wet after a good petting session She’s not a fan of getting picked up or kisses, but any other touching she loves. She’s not super playful, but loved rolling around with a particular pickle toy She LOVES being brushed, but keeps herself relatively cleaned and snarl-free even without it. She isn’t afraid to use her voice, especially when she feels like she’s not getting enough pets, but she has never nipped, bit or used her claws on us. She has hissed at our other cat on a few occasions, but he definitely was instigating and deserved it. We think she doesn’t have the best eyesight and may have the start of some cataracts. She is much more responsive to touch than sight and will sometimes miss our fingers if we are trying to hand feed her We ADORE our Nellie! She is honestly the sweetest cat I’ve ever met, and I think she would thrive in a quieter home environment where there are people around to give her attention.” She is just the perfect, laidback, gentle cat. Please put in an adoption application and we’ll get you set up to come out and meet Annelle.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Annelle, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
