My story

Meet Sieben! A 110lb, 5 year old Black and Tan Doberman who loves going to doggy daycare to play with other dogs, playing fetch with a tennis ball, and going on long walks. Sieben gets a little anxious with bad storms but nothing a little Benadryl doesn't fix. He is trained to sit and give paw. He also just learned to sit and hold a treat on his nose until he is given the release command. Sieben will sit or lay in front of the screen door at the front door and alert that someone/something is passing by, but he doesn't attempt to go through the screen door. He is highly intelligent and could easily pick up other commands. Sieben is leash reactive while walking, so we are working on this issue. With the right introduction, he would do well in a home with other dogs, but he's content being an "only child." When his playmate comes to visit and run around the yard be sure to pick up his toys before hand. He doesn't like other dogs to slobber on his toys, so he will mark the toy if it is not put up in his toy bin beforehand. Saving other dogs' lives through blood donation at Blue Pearl makes Sieben kind of a super hero. So far he has donated his life-saving blood twice and loves all of the treats, attention, and snuggles he gets. Unfortunately, Sieben's best friend and human poppa passed away, and he's looking for an active person to love and care for him the way his dad did. Will you be Batman, so he can be your Robin? Our adoption process includes a home visit and veterinarian and/or personal check. Safe Paws Rescue is a small rescue in St. Petersburg, FL so we accept inquiries from residents in Pinellas County only, please. If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sieben, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
