My story

*** Diego is in a foster home. ***Diego #19624: gray tabby, short hair, neutered male, born approx. 11/15/22 Cats: good solo, ok w/some catsDogs: goodChildren: respectful kids BACKGROUND: Diego was found after being attacked by a dog; he had a massive wound on his side that exposed his organs and was going necrotic. A Good Samaritan got him to a veterinary hospital where he stayed for several weeks while the wound was treated. Once he was released from there, his benefactor took care of him and started reaching out to rescues so that he could find an adoptive home. He moved into our care and is now ready to find that loving home!PERSONALITY: Diego is a very calm and sweet-natured boy with the most adorably-big jowls on his face due to being neutered after he was fully grown. Those full cheeks, along with his sorrowful-looking eyes (don’t worry, he’s not sad, it’s just the shape of them!) will draw you in to give him scritches, though his favorite scritch spots are under his chin and around his ears. Diego is curious and confident with people with a relaxed and easygoing personality. COMPATIBILITY: Diego is good as a solo kitty and makes an excellent companion. He can comfortably live with some other cats but it needs to be the right match as Diego is dominant and will assert his place in the pecking order. Despite his traumatic history, he is fine with cat-friendly dogs. He has not been around children to our knowledge, though we think he’d be okay with gentle and respectful children.Diego is ready to put his tumultuous past behind him and settle in to a life of luxury… one that involves a lot of petting and socializing with people! Will you make his dream come true?

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Diego, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
