My story

Have you always wanted a Husky but felt you don't have the energy to keep up with one? Haven Animal Rescue Nebraska has the perfect one for you! Meet Thaddeus, our 7 year old Siberian Husky, with an eternal Babyface!  Thad enjoys short, relaxing walks and lounging on the deck. He's very affectionate with his humans and is happy to snuggle next to you for some TV time or a nap. Despite some difficult changes in life recently, Thad remains a happy boy and his tail never stops wagging. He long time owner passed away, and Thad traveled all the way from California to be with family members in Nebraska. Unfortunately he wasn't a match for their younger, energetic dog and seeks a quieter home. Thad is currently fostering with 4 other dogs but will find himself a quiet space to wait out the chaos. He would also be perfectly happy to be an only dog as well and get al the love and attention to himself! He is very human friendly, and has done well with children. We feel a home with children past the toddler stage would be the best fit as our guy appreciates the quieter life. Thad is housebroken, kennel trained, and walks well on leash. While on the mature side, he has plenty of good years left to make a great companion. And who could resist this forever puppy face! is tolerant of them. He coexists with them peacefully, and we only get grumpy old man vibes when the young ones get too rowdy. Thad will find himself a quieter space to wait out the chaos. There is a much smaller senior dog in Thad's current foster home and they coexist well together. Thad has done well meeting new people at events. He is very human friendly, and has done well with children. We feel a home with children past the toddler stage would be the best fit as our guy appreciates the quieter life. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals.
