My story

If you’re looking for a pup who thinks you are the main event, say hello to Skittles! This 43-pound bundle of enthusiasm who would gladly trade a toy for some quality head scratches. Skittles is the kind of dog who trots up to the front of his kennel like he’s been waiting just for you. He’s eager to leash up, excited to get moving, and once he’s had a chance to sniff the air and settle in, he’s all about the affection. Pet him once, and he’ll be back for more—tail wagging, eyes bright, politely nudging for another round. Toys? Meh. Skittles will give them a sniff, maybe a curious poke, but he’d much rather hang out with his people. His love language is definitely quality time. Skittles has met other dogs here at the shelter and showed some excitement that might be a little much for more mellow pups, so we recommend a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs to make sure everyone’s on the same page. If you’re looking to add a burst of sweetness to your life, Skittles might just the dog for you!This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 5-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff! Be sure to check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
