My story

Meet Tux – A Shy Guy with a Heart of GoldTux is a handsome, soft-natured cat who just needs a little time to come out of his shell. He can be shy when meeting new people, but once he feels safe and comfortable, his affectionate and playful personality truly shines. After settling in, Tux began regularly seeking out attention—whether it was for pets, brushing, or a gentle reminder that it was mealtime.He’s also a fan of playtime, and that’s when his real personality comes alive. Watching him bat at toys and chase after strings is a joy, and it’s a great way to bond with him.Because Tux can get overstimulated and has a history of nipping when that happens, a calm home with older children or adults who understand cat behavior and boundaries would be ideal. He would thrive with someone patient and gentle who can give him the time he needs to adjust and feel secure.Tux is a loving, playful companion who just needs the right person to give him a chance. Once he trusts you, he’ll be your loyal little buddy for years to come.Be sure to check the “shelter information” box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
