My story

Hi! You can meet me at our Elgin Community Adoption Event on Saturday, April 26th (11 AM - 3 PM) at the Grand Victoria Casino (250 S. Grove Ave., Elgin) Amy is an absolutely adorable 8-year-old black and white Bluetick Coonhound mix with the softest, most dramatically expressive ears you've ever seen—they flop wildly when she glances your way, and it’s pure magic. This gentle gal has a refined, soulful presence and an old-soul charm that makes her a joy to be around. She bonds slowly but deeply, forming strong connections with the people she trusts. Amy is very food motivated and loves cuddles and long, sniffy walks (her absolute favorite activity!). She walks well on a harness, though she might give a little pull when she catches an exciting scent. Amy is house trained with regular outdoor time, and she’s been noted to do well with children, dogs, and even cats. However, due to her hunting instincts, a home without small animals (like rabbits or hamsters) would be best. With love, patience, and some good snacks, Amy will become a loyal, loving companion who’ll steal your heart one dramatic ear-flop at a time. Stop in and meet Amy in person during our adoption hours. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (6 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
