My story

Meet Huron! Huron came all the way from Santa Barbara County Animal Services to become a Frosted Face on April 13th. Huron is about 10 years old and weighs 8 lbs. Soon after Huron arrived, he was chosen for a two-week Frosted Fling that turned into a two months! Thanks to his Fling Mom, we learned so much about Huron and what he is like in a home (great with cats and other dogs!), while he received lots of love and care. His Fling Mom reports: "Huron is truly an easy, loving, and low-key companion—perfect for someone looking for a calm, sweet dog who just wants to be near you. Sadly, my HOA limits the number of pets I can have, so I can’t adopt him myself. But I know there’s someone out there who will be lucky to call him theirs. Huron enjoys slow, leisurely strolls and would often rather be carried. Thankfully, he's tiny enough to tote around with ease. He’s just as happy lounging inside and finds cozy corners or his bed to nap throughout the day. What I’ve Learned About Huron: He’s gained a little weight, but he’s still a slender, picky eater. I feed him small meals throughout the day to keep him comfortable. Huron walks nicely on a leash, but he’s slow and tires easily—he’s always grateful for a ride in your arms or a sling. Huron is quiet—no barking, no whining, and no separation anxiety. When I leave, he just curls up in his bed and waits patiently. Huron is good with other dogs, cats, and kids—but he’s a bit delicate and not up for roughhousing. Huron loves being near you at bedtime and happily sleeps through the night in his bed next to mine. No resource guarding—he shares food and people peacefully. Huron doesn’t jump up on high surfaces but will give a try if it’s low. He’s not into using doggy stairs, but he's smart about finding a way up when he really wants to. Huron deserves a warm, gentle forever home. If you’re looking for a pup who needs you, loves you, and just wants to be close to you, Huron might just be your perfect match. Come meet him—you’ll fall in love!" To meet this little cutie, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Huron, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
