My story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Well, I am one lucky dude and very handsome I might say.  I am a coon hound of about 55 lbs now and almost 6years. I was in a bad situation with a man that kept me and my two buddies in an outside pen, under terrible conditions. We lived in filth, barely fed and wore training collars to keep us quiet. When the batteries quit working, we started barking. This alerted the neighbor to check on us and he reported our owner. It was not good. One of my buddies didn't make it. Our owner went to court and we were taken to the humane society. My other buddy got adopted from the shelter and I was almost to the point of not getting out of there. Then the rescue stepped up. I moved in with some nice, calm people. My foster mom has a soft spot for hounds. It might be our floppy ears or our funny ways. Rose calls us clown hounds. When I first moved in 3 months ago,I was so traumatized, I had terror in my eyes and constantly paced. It took me a while to get used to being in a house. They have a fenced yard and I felt more comfortable out there. Now I'm learning being indoors is quite nice! I know pottying is for outside now. I'm glad I have two dog brothers too.I like all dogs and am a gentle soul. I have no fight in me. Another dog came to stay for a while and we played and played. In the 3 months here, I have come a long way.I still have farther to go to learn all humans are okay. With your help, I will get there. My foster mom says I'll be a work in progress. If you have experience with abused and neglected dogs, it would help, or just plain patience. I am low key and don't ask for much. I am good on a leash and a walk a day would be lovely.I'm also crate trained and completely vetted.  I am starting to live for the first time in my life. Can you be my angel to help me go farther?  If interested, you can easily fill out an adoption application by clicking here: adoption application For anyone viewing this on Petfinder, if you are interested in adopting this animal you will need to go to our website www.rosesrescue.net to fill out the online adoption application.
