My story

Learn more hereThis dog is available to meet by appointment only.  Millie is a 4-year-old, 10-pound Maltese mix who’s looking for a calm, loving home where she can feel safe and understood. Life hasn’t always been easy for this sensitive girl, and she needs time and space to build trust—but for someone patient and experienced with shy, defensive pups, Millie has so much love to give. In her foster home, Millie has been slowly coming out of her shell. She enjoys spending time with other small dogs, walks politely on leash, and is starting to show interest in toys. She's mostly house trained, uses pee pads, and loves her meals—especially when there’s cheese involved. Millie has a skin condition (pyoderma) that requires regular medicated baths and vet follow-up, and she’s been a great sport about it once she feels secure. She’s looking for an adult-only home with an adopter who understands that trust is earned, not rushed. With time, patience, and a gentle routine, Millie will blossom into a loyal, loving companion.
