My story

BrewsterHow`s it goin`? I`m doin` pretty well, except for being a bit confused. I`ve had quite a journey, from one shelter to another, a short-lived adoption, and now I`m here at HSHC. But you know what? I`m a resilient 3-year-old, neutered male DSH, and I`ve been told I am an adorable, friendly, sweet-natured, and handsome fellow. The volunteers just love socializing with me because I am such a nice guy. I am crazy about being petted and receiving affection, though I like to initiate cuddling sessions. If I weren`t staying in a Condo, you would see that I love zooming around a room, playing with balls or other toys I can bat around. I`m an active boy, and my love for playtime is infectious! Watching birds and squirrels is one of my greatest pleasures. I am passionate about finding places to sit that are high up on a cat tree or a shelf. I`ve lived with a 3-year-old child and been affectionate with him. The interviewer lady (IL) tells everyone I am her current favorite cat! She does not understand why a lucky new owner hasn`t snatched me up! My only problem is that I can be a nervous nelly. I don`t handle stress very well. My owner gave me immediate access to the whole house, which was overwhelming. It takes quite a while for a cat to feel comfortable and secure in a new home. I had only one litterbox with a strange cat litter. Also, when the medical staff examined me, I had cystitis, which is an excruciating condition. Amazingly, this is an inflammation of the bladder caused by stress. If I am relaxed and comfortable in my new home, I will not have to deal with this pain. So, I will need a g-r-a-d-u-a-l introduction to your home, with a safe place to retreat and relax. I will successfully settle into your home if my new owner follows the HSHC staff`s advice.
