Broncco is a deeply sensitive boy who's currently overwhelmed in the shelter environment. When approached, he cowers in the back of his kennel, but with a slow, gentle touch, he begins to show signs of trust. Once outside, he leans against his trusted friends for comfort—even while shaking—and takes treats softly, even offering a sit. Broncco is very fearful and unsure of new people. He needs a calm, patient home with experience and heart, someone willing to go slow and show him the world isn’t so scary after all. Meet sweet Broncco at ACCT Philly any day from 10 am to 6 pm VIDEOS Broncco meets Tyson: https://youtube.com/shorts/raieaKErc-8?si=_BBYTQIDPcA0XWUs Playgroup 4/13: Thunder, Ellie, Tilly, Sandy, Luna Ice Queen, and Broncco Drop Leash: https://youtu.be/srY96X4NHMY?feature=shared BEHAVIOR: Per volunteer 4/16: Broncco is a very sweet boy! He loves to cuddle and he loves treats! He learned a new trick, “touch” today and I can tell her is very smart. He was super quick to warm up to me. He is a lovebug!!! 04/13/2025 staff notes, Playgroup: Steerable. Crouched posture, tentative, avoidant but tolerant throughout. 04/12/2025 staff notes: Took Broncco out of his kennel so a volunteer could help change over his blankets. He was cowering in the back of his crate when approached, but I was able to slowly lasso him by lassoing him. He wearily stood and slowly came out. He was interested in the treats I tossed on the ground. He would not come out until the volunteer backed away from his crat. Once out, he came to me slowly and leaned against my leg, but was shaking the whole time. I was able to touch his back, but he continued shaking. I kept control of the leash and led him to get some treats. He sat for treats and took them gently. I did not attempt to see how he reacted to toys due to his fearfulness. After about 10 minutes out, I attempted to return him to his crate, but he put on the brakes. I threw treats in and he did not budge. I also threw a kong in and he was still hesitant to return even with leash pressure. I walkied for assistance and a staff member was able to lift him up to place in his crate. When I visited a few moments later, he went back to cowering in the back of his kennel. 04/12/2025 staff notes: Weary of strangers. Very nervous. Did not bark or anything. Shaking a lot. May need a slow approach. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details.
