** New Medical Notes ** King ACCT-A-215251 is currently considered urgent and at risk of euthanasia due to length of stay and lack of space for incoming dogs. King must have confirmed placement with a FOSTER, RESCUE PARTNER and/or ADOPTER by Wednesday, May 14th, 2025 at 10AM. Should King’s medical or behavioral status change, his urgency and timeline for placement may also change. Meet our royal boy, King! King will be sure to become the king of your heart once you meet him. He's a super affectionate boy—gentle, easy to handle, and very cuddly! Poor King was brought to the shelter on 4/18 when he was left with a friend who realized they couldn't commit to caring for him. Upon arrival, King was found to be emaciated, with visible pressure sores and hair loss from chronic poor nutrition. Despite this rough start, King has remained incredibly sweet, food-motivated, and gentle with his human friends. While at ACCT King has describe as a "super affectionate boy" who will climb right into your lap for love. He’s shown selectivity with dogs and has a history of biting another dog over a food bowl, having corrected inappropriate behavior in playgroup but otherwise coexisting well. Due to a past food-guarding incident in the home, King should not be placed with children. Due to length of stay, King is timestamped and is looking for the right person or rescue to help him heal. So lovable & affectionate. Was very reactive to all surrounding dogs while in ISO. Walksheet note on 5/6 Medium energy. Good on walk Walksheet note on 5/5: Low energy. Sweet and good on walk and on leash. Walksheet note on 5/5 Medium energy. Walksheet note 5/4 Low energy. Very sweet, playfully jumpy. Per volunteer 5/4: What a sweet pup. So interested in a friendly way in watching all the dogs walking around King. King with a wagging tail loved being pet Walksheet note 4/30 Medium energy. Very sweet & excited to be out Playgroup notes on 4/26: King was not steerable at the gate and was very tolerant of all the dogs in the yard. He was curious in the yard but had his hackles raised and a stiff tail. He did correct Freddie whenever he got too much in his face and would walk away. We took him out due to Freddie consistently bothering him and his corrections. Walksheet note 4/26 Went out in playgroup. Walksheet note 4/25 Low energy. Loves hugs & gives sweet kisses. Definitely house broken. Walksheet note 4/25 Low energy. Per Volunteer 4/25: He was laying down when I approached his kennel. He had a loose body and eyes, so I reached in and leashed him easily. Outside, he was super affectionate and took pets all over climbing into my lap for cuddles! He is super food motivated, which makes sense as he is pretty emaciated. Tried sniffing my treats out of my fanny pack and actually fell off of the bench trying to jump for a treat. Take streets gently, even though he is very good for them. No issues walking back in or getting into his kennel. Very easy boy overall! Walksheet note 4/24 Low energy. Sweet. Loves hugs & massages . Healthy poop and pee. Walksheet note 4/23 Excellent while out Per Volunteer 4/23: He is calm and quiet in the kennel. He was easy to remove and place back into the kennel. Outside he walked on a loose leash and tolerated petting but didn't solicit attention. Walksheet note 4/22 Good boy Surrender notes on 4/18: King has lived with cats, small dogs, kids 1-12, adults.
