My story

Poor 14 year old Tina was evicted from her home when her elderly cat mom moved to an assisted living facility. This woman and her neighbors had halfway tamed and fixed the majority of the cats in the neighborhood TNRing like true champions, and picking up several new indoor and outdoor cats along the way. The family of Tina's mom needed to sell the house but could hardly find Tina darting around from one floor to another, scared of the strangers in her home and wondering where her mom was. You see, Tina was one old, 12 at the time, outdoor feral that her mom had tamed enough to have her come live inside and approach her mom for pets and snuggles, but was still terrified others. Tina was barely caught in the house by one of our volunteers before she would have been chased outside and ended up living a life on the streets as a 12 year old cat with about 2 teeth left. Tina is a bit of a project cat to get her to trust you, that likely doesn't have a lot of years left, but we truly believe that there is a home out there that will let her be a cozy indoor cat for the rest of her days. A home that will give her time to be scared while she adjusts to yet another change at an old age. A home that will let her sun bathe safely in the windowsill, let her snuggle in bed with them for pets, let her run away and hide when they have guests over and just let her be old and cared for. Tina did recently have senior bloodwork done at her annual exam and everything came back pretty great! The other thing about Tina is that she is extrememly bonded with a semi-feral black cat named Riza. Riza is roughly 3 years old and lived in a farm with 90 other cats, she was trapped by us and has never really warmed up to be a cat that wants to hang out with people. She won't seek you out to be mean to you but she's only interested in cuddling her friend Tina. She let's her foster put flea and tick preventative on her and will lightly hiss at her foster mom when she tries to pet her during feeding time. If riza were to rank her favorite thing since this world #1 would be Tina #2 would be food and #3 would be cat beds. When push comes to shove Riza can be put in a cat carrier, but prefers to be left completely alone. These two have been is foster for nearly 2 years and it's time they have a chance to see if there is a home put there willing to put up with them. This pair is a project, but they are deserving of a safe place to live even if they aren't the most friendly and adoptable kitties. For qualified applicants, Tina and Rizas adoption fee is waived. If this project pair seems like a project for you, apply at the link below. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdy9NUdRzsagXgNJ7xhCHp5LZnTUYFxN-2jh4HgXKTou9k-tA/viewform

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Riza, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
