He does very well with his foster home’s male basset hound. He loves his toys. Jet does not chew up what he shouldn’t and he does all his business outside. He does have typical basset hound/labrador bad manners. He will counter surf and he will get into the trash if it is not kept under the cabinet, behind a closed door. Jet was not the best on a leash when he came into WBHR on March 8th, but he has made good progress. If he is too excited, he will sit and wait until he is more composed. Jet sleeps all night and he is ready in the morning to seize the day! He does need a 6ft. fenced yard. He is an energetic and athletic boy! Jet came to WHBR from a shelter in Texas, where he came in as an unclaimed stray. DNA shows that his genetic make-up is 43% Basset Hound, 39% Pointer, 8% Australian Shepherd and 5% cattle dog. There are four other breeds in the final 5%. Jet is current on his vaccinations, HW negative, microchipped and weighs around 45 pounds.
