My story

Meet Wayne, a handsome 1.5 year old neutered male standard poodle, weighing approx 50 lbs!  Wayne was surrendered to Paws Rescue League (through no fault of his own) when his owner was no longer able to care for him. His family made sure that he went to a rescue, to be certain Wayne would find his PAWFECT family!  When he came to PRL he had missed his grooming appointment due to family events, he definitely played hard and he was in desperate need of a good trim!  Fast forward to today, and just LOOK at him now!   Although his new haircut does make him look quite proper, Wayne is a fun loving guy and is sure to bring lots of love and joy to his new family. Wayne is a sweet boy who gets along great with other dogs, people, and kids! He has not been cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats. Fun fact about Wayne: he is fascinated by the TV!   He is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
