My story

Meet Benjamin! Looking for a goofy, lovable, high-energy sidekick? Meet Benjamin, an 8-month-old, 45 lb bundle of joy who’s 100% puppy in all the best (and silliest) ways! Benjamin is a total sweetheart with a big personality. He’s extra goofy, full of puppy antics, and always ready for his next adventure. Whether it’s zooming around the yard like a pro or exploring new trails on leash, he’s happiest when he’s moving and having fun. He walks well on leash and rides great in the car—just make sure he’s buckled in because he’s been known to try and make a break for it as soon as the door opens! Training-wise, Benjamin is smart, food-motivated, and already knows how to sit. Like most pups his age, he still needs some guidance and patience, especially when it comes to jumping up—but he’s easily redirected and eager to learn. He’d thrive in a home that’s ready to put in the time to help him grow into the best boy he can be. While toys aren’t really his thing, Benjamin is all about human affection—especially once he’s had a chance to settle. He’s also a champ during bath time and enjoys being pampered. A home with a yard to zoom in, maybe a confident canine buddy to play with, and people who understand the joys (and challenges) of raising a young dog would be a perfect match for this affectionate, doofy pup. As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
