***Local Adoption Only: Duchess must be adopted by an individual/family in the Central Florida region (Orlando area) who will commit to taking her to her follow-up vetting appointment for her dental and spay. This has already been scheduled and the cost is covered by her adoption donation.*** Hello! My name is Duchess. I am a 4-year-old standard poodle girl who weighs 52 pounds. While I may not be part of a true royal family, I would love to find a home where I can treat you like royalty. I rank very high in kindness, sweetness and playfulness. General Behavior: Duchess is adventurous, affectionate, athletic and smart. She is an enthusiastic social butterfly who will gladly be the life of the party. Likes & Dislikes: Duchess LOVES to play! She is very active and could happily go, go, go all day. As far as toys go . . . she could take them or leave them. Training: Duchess is house trained in her foster home and even lets her foster mom know when she needs to go out. She walks well on a leash and has good basic manners. She does very well on car rides. Medical: Duchess is a healthy girl and just needs her monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventative, like any other dog. Other Animals: Duchess is experienced with playful dogs of all sizes. Due to her size and playfulness, sharing a home with smaller dogs would not be ideal. However, a home with another large and playful dog would be awesome for Duchess. In her foster home, she ignores the resident cat, as well as the 2 barn cats and the chickens. Children: Duchess would be a good fit for respectful children 8 and older. Her size and energy could be too much for smaller children who could easily be knocked over. Home: Duchess could also live in an apartment or condo as long as she is given LOTS of exercise throughout the day to work off her energy. Her “dream palace” would be a single-family home with a fenced yard and a larger dog to run around with. Duchess can be left alone in a home for several hours without issues and stays in a secure area in her foster home. After a day of play, Duchess gets her beauty sleep in her own cozy space. Grooming: Dazzling Duchess will need regular professional grooming. The ongoing cost of this should be considered by her potential adopter. Overall: Duchess is a wonderful dog who is sure to be a great addition to her new “FUR”ever home. As long as she is loved and gets plenty of opportunity to play, she will be a happy girl. Are you the one for Duchess? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You will be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it is a potential match. She is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption donation is $350. ##2319463##
