My story

Hi! I'm Lucky! I'm an approximately 11 month old, male, Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog mix. I was surrendered by my owner on 04/07/2025 because I did not get along with the kiddo in the home. I arrived to the shelter incredibly scared and shut down. I am working with shelter staff to come out of my shell and adapt to my new environment. I am looking for a family who has the patience to help me transition to a new home and help me build the confidence I need to be the best family pet. I am slowly opening up to staff and have begun playing with toys of all kinds and seeking out affection when I am around people. According to my previous owner, I am house and crate trained and good with dogs. A meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along. My adoption fee is $125. I am neutered, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccinations, basic boosters, and heartworm negative. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption.
