Breezy

My story

A volunteer writes: I saw Breezy snuggled against the wall of her cubby and held my hand out for her to sniff. Breezy responded by essentially trying to disappear into the wall. The shelter can be a lot on our gentle hearted friends and Breezy gives the impression that sometimes the wall is a better fit for her than meeting new people. Though not the most conducive to finding a forever family, I've definitely been there myself and Breezy's gone through several big changes recently. She came to us from a home with many other cats, so settling into Care Center life, with its near constant stream of new scents, sounds, and people looking to make friends, isn't without its bumps. There are times when Breezy is a little more open to saying hello and open to pets, but she isn't one to hang out at the front of her condo. She's looking for a patient person who will be willing to take that first step for her and show they're ready to love her. BREAKTHROUGH: Breezy surprised me today April 27th! All of a sudden, after a short peptalk, she left her den, her sanctuary and marched toward me, meowing gently, head bunting my hand, leaning into pets and purring. She, I always found shrunk at the back of her cubby, jumped down into her living room and became a happy and loving pet again(see her video).You made my day, Breezy and I know now that you will make another person, another family blessed to have you if you are given a chance. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for cat parents with either an average amount of cat experience or demonstrate a basic understanding of typical cat behavior.
