My story

A volunteer writes:Cookie Crisp is an adorable and petite gal who was left behind with nineteen of her housemates. A cute oreo cookie she is, yearning for affection and touch. She wants to be seen and heard, jumping on and off her kuranda bed or rubbing herself to her kennel door. She was quite shy when she arrived at the care center but bloomed since then into a lovely flower. Moving her to our alley has made her again a bit shy but bring treats, speak gently to her, touch her nose and she will be all yours, ready to go home with you for many years to come. Ask for Cookie Crisp when you visit us at the Manhattan Care Center.My history is a mystery I have lived with cats in my previous home.I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.A volunteer writes: Cookie Crisp is a shy tuxie who came to the Care Center after being abandoned by her owner. This petite lady deserves a much better guardian than that, and we're helping her find them by putting out the call about what a wonderful girl she is. For starters, Cookie Crisp is comfortable enough with humans to allow pettings on her head and cheeks. She's curious and sniffs treats given by hand, and she's even okay with being picked up. She did well on her behavior test, which found that she'd be a good fit in most households. Your new best friend is waiting to see you on 110th Street today!
