May is still learning how to build confidence and that the world is not as scary as it currently appears. She is looking for a patient family that will spend the time to slowly introduce her to the world around her.IN-SHELTER NOTES & IDEAL HOMESIZE:66 poundsHOME TYPE:No apartments as she can be quite nervous and she is sound sensitiveCHILDREN:No - must be an adult only home - very nervous and touch sensitive requiring slower introductions but improving dailyCATS & SMALL ANIMALS:Yes- cats potentially compatible with slow proper introductionOTHER DOGS:Yes- Dogs potentially compatible with slow proper introductionACTIVITY/ENERGY LEVEL:High; will need a lot of daily exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation.HUMAN COMPATIBILTY:Previous large dog ownerTRAINING REQUIREMENTS/NEEDS:Three in-person training sessions required to work on socialization, basic training, manners (jumpy/mouthy), sound and touch sensitivity.HUMAN SOCIAL IN SHELTER:Working on human socialization but can be very fearful and may need extra time and/or multiple meets.FAVOURITE THINGS:Getting all the love from people (once she is comfortable). She has not had an accident inside while in foster.CAR MANNERS:She is very good in the car! She was a bit nervous to hop in initially but now readily hops in without any issue. She sits quietly in the backseat when the car is moving.LEASH MANNERS / ON WALK MANNERS:May has great leash manners! Very gentle, doesn’t pull, very happy to be close to handler.CRATE TRAINING:She sleeps comfortably in her crate overnight! Chooses to go in and out of her kennel throughout the day while door is open, as this is her safe space. She has been left in her crate for a few hours at a time when home alone; some whimpering for the first few minutes but does settle after a few minutes.KNOWN TRAINING CUES:Knows sit, paw, off, working on her down cue but she is very smart and quick to
