My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I prefer to call the shots and enjoy coming to you when I'm ready for pets.A volunteer writes: Candy's a friendly, talkative, and outgoing kitty who really loves to be around people. Now, we have lots of people at the shelter, which, at a glance, might make it seem like a great temporary fit except, well... it hasn't quite been exactly that. Care Center life hasn't been Candy's cup of tea partially because he's someone who takes a little time to warm up to new people. While this is completely understandable, it's hardly the most conducive to making new friends at the shelter. Sitting at the front of his cubby when I visited, Candy looked every bit like he was ready to join in the fun. When I opened the door, he raised an eyebrow and pulled back for a moment to collect his thoughts. Once he did, Candy good naturedly accepted some pets and scritches. Though he wasn't one to elaborately nuzzle or tuck himself gently into my arms, it's easy to see that Candy has so much to offer and is only waiting for a chance.
