My story

Meet Gemma, a 23 pound mixed breed, found pregnant on the streets of Texas and brought to Maryland to raise her babies...she was the best mom and has now turned into the best dog. Has a dachshund shape body with lots of other wonderful breeds thrown in. Sweet, friendly and outgoing, fully housebroken and just a joy to have around. Great with the dogs and cats in the foster home... she is just amazing, her babies are over and she is ready to be treasured. PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. The adoption fee is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. All of our dogs will be microchipped. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging.
